Parade, Rennen und Feuer

I took a half hour early morning bike ride, walked in the St. John Christmas Parade with Shelly, the neighbor’s child Bailey and the SCFCU crew. We got rained on pretty bad and I was very tired. I can’t say it was too much fun.
Shelly came back over to my house later in the afternoon and we drove to the Jingle Bell 2 Miler road race in Satellite Beach. She just started running – I got her hooked – and it was her first race ever. I finished in 12:56 not being able to keep up a decent pace in the end. I still haven’t fully recovered from the marathon and haven’t done any speed work ever since then.
Shelly finished in 22:44 which is pretty good for her 5th or so run overall.
Jon wasn’t able to run due to his broken toe, so Shelly took his bib number.
At night we had a bonfire at the barn and a really good time with Stephanie, some horse friends and neighbors.
I got drunk and we came home very late at night, around 2 in the morning.
