I can’t believe I’m only 20 miles away from Washington but stayed in the hotel and the little mall area all day!
In the morning I stayed in bed long and played with the laptop before I went grocery shopping at Wegman, a very nice store that I’d never been to before. It’s like a mixture of Publix/Safeway and Whole Foods. Very nice, but also quite expensive.
I also found the Washington And Old Dominion Trail right behind the hotel, a long bike, run and horse trail that seems to have been an old railroad track.
Between that brief excursion and late afternoon I just rested in the room which drove me halfway nuts. So I finally left to go shopping at Target where I met Denise whose husband Rick is at the conference, too. Jon and Rick were classmates in Monterey.
We talked for a while, I got myself a nice dress and shoes and a shirt for Jon. I hope I’ll be able to wear it here.
When Jon finally came back we ran on the trail together, got ourselves a complementary beer and I made dinner in the room.
We wanted to go swim right away, but there was a movie about Steve Prefontaine, a famous American distance runner, on TV, so we watched it first and went to the hot tub and pool afterwards where we had fun taking pictures and movie with the camera in the drypak again.
