Cajun & Creole

In the morning I took the free ferry over the Mississippi river to look around in Algiers Point just a little bit before I went to my cajun cooking class where a nice old creole lady demonstrated how to make the traditional gumbo that is famous for New Orleans. While she was cooking she told us many interesting things and stories about the town and its history.
The food was very good and I was even able to save some for Jon who I met briefly afterwards.
In the afternoon I took the streetcar to City Park and ran on the practice track to get my interval workout in.
At night Jon and I went back to the French Quarter, had some drinks at Pat O'Brien's and listened to some great music at their piano bar.
